Joni Towles: Towles Educational Consulting

Joni has provided guidance and perspective to hundreds of high school students since she began in the educational consulting field in 2003. Over the past ten years, Joni has helped students and their families find colleges that are a “good fit” for them, incorporating academic, extracurricular, social and financial considerations. She has a particular passion for working with students in the performing and visual arts fields as well as students who want to consider colleges outside the southeast. Joni recommends beginning the college search process the summer before junior year or earlier if a student is involved in the arts. She spends quite a bit of time visiting college campuses so she can provide first-hand knowledge of schools throughout the country. Her goal is to reduce the stress and anxiety families can feel going through the college process and help students find colleges where they can thrive and become successful, young adults.

Joni is a Certified Educational Planner, which represents the highest level of professional standards in the field of educational consulting. One of only eight CEP’s in the state of Georgia, she is the only full-time educational consultant solely devoted to college counseling. She is an active member of a number of professional organizations, including Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), National Association of College Admission Counseling (NACAC), Southern Association of College Admission Counseling (SACAC), the CFA Institute and the American Institute of Certified Educational Planners. Joni served on the Board of HECA as Treasurer from 2010-2013.
