Educational Consultant Spotlight: Lisa Smith

Lisa Smith is an experienced college consultant with a deep understanding of the college application process. She works with students from all ends of the academic spectrum. The college admission process can be complex and stressful. Lisa provides support through out the journey, helping students find a meaningful and ultimately successful path to their ideal college. She has an hourly fee structure that offers flexibility. So you can put Lisa to work from the beginning of high school or have her provide expert guidance at any point in the process. Her services include guidance through the following:

• Create a college list
• Develop a personal timeline for students with key milestones
• Identify a student’s talents and attributes
• Prepare resume
• Plan college visits
• Provide recommendations for merit/financial aid resources
• Brainstorm essay topics and provide editorial review
• Navigate and complete the Common App and other applications
• Prepare for campus and alumni interviews
• Finalize all applications within deadline

Lisa’s background is ideally suited to the college process. She spent seven years assisting students and meeting with over 100 admission reps from around the country at the College and Career Center at New Canaan High School in CT, a school district ranked number two in the USA by Forbes Magazine. Lisa served on the board of the district’s Senior Internship Program. Early in her career, she spent years in marketing and promotions working for high profile media companies including CNN, The Disney Channel and Warner Brothers. Lisa has a degree in Communications from the University of Georgia, Grady School of Journalism. She brings her communication skills to her students and helps them find their voice and passion and communicate that to the schools of their choice.
